The Salt Spring Island Apple Festival is very pleased to disburse all funds earned either towards:
- local fruit processing equipment and facilities for use by the Salt Spring Island community or
- to other great recipients, as shown below.
IT IS FABULOUS TO SEE APPLES, HELPING OUT PEOPLE LOCALLY AND IN OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD.
What a great WIN-WIN situation. Apples cause people to have fun on that day and in doing so, help other people here and away.
I like to think of that as APPLE RIPPLE OF LOVE.
Local Fruit Processing Equipment.
Proceeds from the 2011 Apple Festival were used to purchase 10 stainless steel dehydrators, which are available to the community as very cheap rentals. Five are available at Natureworks for $15 per week. Each dehydrator has 10 shelves with a total drying area of 15 square feet.
In an effort to initiate a business doing fruit leather or dried fruit, there are also 5 dehydrators available as a group of $10 each per week. These are available through Harry Burton at 653-2007 or harry@appleluscious.com.
